Do you really know how much alcohol you are consuming?

Alcohol consumption is expressed in grams.

Alcohol abuse is the most common cause of hepatic cirrhosis. Numerous studies have reported that daily consumption of 40 to 80 grams of alcohol in men and 20 to 40 grams in women for a period of 10 to 12 years predisposes to liver damage.

It is important to remember that even if your alcohol consumption is not daily, if the amount of alcohol you consume over the weekend is equivalent to a daily consumption, the risk of liver damage is the same.

Furthermore, alcohol consumption does not only cause liver damage; its abuse increases the risk of cancer of the esophagus, stomach, and colon.
