Cardiovascular disease are disorders of the heart and blood vessels, they classify as:
- High blood pressure
- Heart attack
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Heart failure
- Rheumatic heart disease
- Congenital heart disease
The world heart federation (WHF), classifies heart disease as the predominant killer, it is estimated it kills about 17,5 million people in the world, that represent 30% of registered deaths in the world. Of those deaths approximately 7,4 million were because of coronary disease and 6,7 million due tu cerebrovascular events.
It is thought that by 2030, almost 23,6 million people will die of a cardiovascular disease, in the most part because of cardiopathies and strokes.
Some factors that increase these diseases are:
Nutrition. It is responsable for nearly 44,000 cardiovascular deaths a year. We recommend: a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables and fish. Try to avoid saturated and trans fats.
The lack of exercise (sedentary lifestyle): it’s associated with 10% of premature cardiovascular deaths. The frequent practice of a sport is very important for cardiovascular health. Exercise at least 20 minutes daily of moderate activity, you could increase the intensity with the supervisión of your doctor.
Smoking: it causes 15,000 cardiovascular deaths a year. It is one of the worst enemies of cardiovascular health, that is why we recommend to stop smoking or reduce the number of cigarettes to the minimum.
Taking these recommendations will win quality of life.
These diseases will prevail as the number one cause of death.
